Grenold Coffee This voice! No nouns or verbs can describe! Favorite track: Gems and Rubies.
Pierre Conrad

Pierre Conrad This album evokes a landscape in the same way albums like The Joshua Tree do. I have such a vivid picture in my mind while listening to tracks like Highway Pearls. It's not even the lyrics. If I didn't speak English, I'd still get the same imagery from the instrumentation and vocal work. A layer not many artists are able to add. Favorite track: Chasing the Muse.

Chuck Dovish Valley Queen found me in the darkest period of the best time in my life, so it really wasnt all that bad, but it was enough to recognize the beauty in this artistic medium we know as music, especially the beauty in Valley Queens music in particular. Directly after listening to Highway Pearls I bought a pearl necklace and joined a scooter brigade in Chillicothe IL. I do not regret this decision as, again, it was the best time of my life. Favorite track: Highway Pearls.

I've been singing to the stars Out open windows To empty bars Oh let me sing to the sun Let me burn to a crisp  For a little absolution Of heaven It's a place It was right here until it went away But all my angels They returned And we were Supergiants  Here on earth The world got lost We went insane I'll build a garden Only I can create The world got lost We went insane You build a garden Only you can create Heaven it's your place And it's right here until it went away But all my angels They returned And we were Supergiants here on earth I know you can't attach to all that attracts you But I've seen the face of god It was right here and now it's gone It was heaven it was our place It was right here until it went away But all my angels They returned And we were Supergiants here on earth I know you can't attach to all that attracts you But you were the face of god You were right here And now you're gone Or maybe not If there's a little bit in all of us Colossal, rambling astronauts

One part anger Two parts heartbreak Three parts relief I'm escaping this reality we made Four parts fear I've made a terrible mistake but only a fool would stay Got what I paid for  I was chasing the muse You're gonna get what you paid for It's time you walked away from me It's time to choose How to be  And what to do How are you gonna be What are you gonna do I hope you figure it out So put the record Put the record on its needle Go on and turn the TV down And try to listen I will listen if I'm able What was that song about 'Cause how much longer were we carrying on How many more times would we carry you home The bar was closing down You were stumbling out Sleepwalking drunk And I only mirrored the pain So put the record, put the record on its needle Go on and turn the TV down And try to listen, I will listen if I'm able What was that song about? Got what I paid for  I was chasing the muse You're gonna get what you paid for It's time you walked away from me It's time to choose How to be  And what to do How are you gonna be What are you gonna do I hope you figure it out ('cause how much longer were we carrying on) I hope you'll figure it out (how many more times would we carry you home) You're gonna figure it out (how much longer were we carrying on) You're gonna figure it out (how many more times, let love carry you home)

about

Valley Queen Los Angeles, California

The sophomore album from Los Angeles band Valley Queen is a dynamically layered sonic universe of intense range. Carol’s inimitable vocals are as fearlessly fluid as ever—ethereal to thunderous in a note—and fully consuming.
